These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) set out the conditions for using the Ripploom application and related services (the “Service”) provided by the operator of Ripploom (the “Operator”).
1. Acceptance
By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are under the age at which parental consent is required in your country or region, you must obtain consent from a parent or legal guardian before using the Service.
2. Accounts
The Service offers authentication through Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your account secure, preventing unauthorized use, and keeping your registration information current.
3. User Content and License
You represent that you have all rights necessary for the text, images, and other content you submit and that your content does not infringe the rights of others. You retain ownership of your content. You grant the Operator a license to use it only as reasonably necessary to operate, display, distribute, safeguard, and improve the Service. You may delete your own posts. When you do, their photos and text are removed; however, Ripples created by other users from that post may remain as those users’ content, and an anonymous deleted node may remain to preserve the connection.
4. Prohibited Conduct
- Violating laws, regulations, or public order and morals
- Harassing, discriminating against, threatening, or impersonating others
- Infringing copyright, publicity, privacy, or other rights
- Posting another person’s address, contact details, or other personal information without consent
- Promoting dangerous behavior, self-harm, or criminal activity
- Unauthorized access, excessive load, or reverse engineering of the Service
- False reports, spam, or use solely for advertising or solicitation
5. Moderation
To help keep the Service safe, the Operator may use automated checks before or after publication, user reports, and human review. If content or conduct violates or may violate these Terms, the Operator may hide or remove content, restrict features, or suspend an account without prior notice. Automated checks are not perfect, so you remain responsible for reviewing your content before posting.
6. Changes and Suspension
The Operator may modify or suspend all or part of the Service for maintenance, outages, safety, legal compliance, or other reasonable causes. Where practical, material changes will be announced through the Service or this website.
7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Service is provided without warranties of completeness, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, or fitness for a particular purpose. Except where caused by the Operator’s willful misconduct or gross negligence, or where liability cannot legally be limited, the Operator is not liable for damages arising from or related to the Service.
8. Account Deletion
You may request deletion of your account at any time from the app’s Settings screen. See the account deletion instructions for details.
9. Changes to These Terms
The Operator may revise these Terms in accordance with applicable law. Changes that materially affect users will be announced by a reasonable method before they take effect.
10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan. Unless applicable law requires otherwise, disputes related to the Service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Japanese court having jurisdiction over the Operator’s location as the court of first instance.
